Program Overview
Our Junior Strength & Conditioning program provides coached, group-based training focused on developing strong movement foundations, coordination, and physical resilience in a safe and age-appropriate environment.
Training supports growing bodies through structured strength work, conditioning, and athletic development principles, helping juniors build confidence, body control, and physical capability that transfers across sport and everyday movement.
The program also supports young athletes competing at higher levels within their respective sports, providing a structured training environment that complements their sport-specific demands while promoting durability and long-term development.
Sessions prioritise quality of movement, consistency, and positive training habits, laying the groundwork for sustainable athletic performance rather than short-term intensity.

How Training Works at Southpac Strength
Training is delivered through structured, coach-led group sessions designed specifically for junior athletes.
Each session follows a consistent framework and typically includes:
-
Structured warm-ups and movement preparation
-
Fundamental strength and movement pattern development
-
Conditioning appropriate for junior athletes
-
Coaching cues focused on control, awareness, and safe execution
Coach actively guides each session, scales movements appropriately, and ensures training remains engaging, supportive, and progressive.
The program follows a yearly periodised structure, allowing physical qualities to be developed progressively across training blocks while managing load, intensity, and recovery appropriately for junior athletes.
The emphasis is on long-term development, confidence, and consistency—not maximal loading or unnecessary intensity.

Progression
Progression is guided by movement quality, consistency, and the athlete’s ability to follow coaching instruction.
As juniors demonstrate readiness and maturity, training evolves to support more advanced strength & conditioning demands, helping prepare athletes for higher training loads and competitive environments within their sport.
