ABOUT US
Southpac Strength is a proudly family-owned and operated Strength & Conditioning and Combat Training Facility, built from the ground up — literally. What began as an idea in early 2024 evolved into months of hard work, long nights, and a true hands-on build. In May 2024, we started the fit-out ourselves.
What we thought would take three months became a nine-month labour of love, transforming an empty shell into a purpose-built space designed to develop athletes and support the families behind them. In February 2025, we finally opened our doors and ran our very first class — a milestone that made every challenge worthwhile.
Today, Southpac Strength stands as a home for dedicated athletes and the families who back them — a place where discipline, community, and legacy is built from the ground up.

Coach Veets entered the health and fitness field in 2005 in Auckland, New Zealand, and transitioned into Strength & Conditioning in 2009, working with promising athletes from challenging and troubled backgrounds. From 2009 to 2012, his work focused on developing performance while instilling discipline, character, and clear direction.

He began training in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu in 2016 and was awarded his brown belt in 2025 under Huia Martial Arts. He began coaching Jiu-Jitsu by volunteering his time at Southpac Strength, where he now volunteers as Head Coach, leading our Strength & Conditioning, Jiu-Jitsu and Junior MMA programs.
Coach Veets is an ASCA-accredited Strength & Conditioning Coach who continues to develop professionally through ongoing education, applied coaching practice, and direct learning opportunities with internationally recognised leaders in combat sport performance.
His aim is simple and unwavering: to develop and grow talent from the 4300, guided by discipline, patience, and service to family and community, with eyes fixed firmly on the long game.
COACH SIELI
Technical Striking Coach
Mālō e lelei, my name is Lesieli
I am a technician coach in combat striking, here to support and guide you in your development as a fighter.
I am a primary school teacher, giving me a strong background in education, communication and structured skill development. Before coaching, I was an active and dedicated fighter.
I trained in Ashihara Karate for 10 years, achieving my black belt, and competed in full-contact karate and kickboxing bouts. To further develop my boxing and hand skills, I trained at Shamrock with Ron Foley for four years. I later trained with TOA Fighting System, and continued my journey in Kyokushin Karate, progressing to brown belt and taking on a coaching role for fighters.
I have a strong eye for detail in movement, stance and technique, and I focus on building fighters from novice to those that are technically sound, disciplined and mentally strong.
I believe that with good technique, discipline, and a crazy love for fighting, you can grow and be successful — both physically and mentally and this does transfer to all aspects of your life.
I look forward to working with you,
Lesieli Tu'ipulotu

COACH PATI
MMA Coach
Ropati began martial arts at 18 with no roadmap — only the will to test himself.
He found Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu in 2011, earned multiple medals, and progressed to Purple Belt through consistency and discipline.
He stepped into MMA (0–3–1), where adversity built resilience and humility.
Transitioning to Boxing and Muay Thai, he won his boxing debut, rebounded from an early Muay Thai loss, and went on to claim three State Titles.
In 2020, he stepped away from competition to focus on family and long-term purpose. Today, as an Independent Support Worker and mentor, he develops physical and mental growth through structured training and real-world lessons.
Growth through discomfort. Discipline over emotion.
WHO I HELP:
• Martial artists chasing technical growth
• Athletes building stand-up and combat skill
• Individuals seeking resilience, not just fitness
• Those wanting discipline, confidence, and ego-free development
PURPOSE
To build disciplined, resilient individuals through martial arts — teaching that true growth isn’t measured by wins or losses, but by how you respond to adversity.

COACH MINJUM
Ladies BJJ Coach
I began training Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu in 2013 and have spent over a decade developing as both a competitor and coach.
Throughout my journey I have competed across Australia and internationally, earning titles at the Australian Cup, Pan Pacific Championships, Grappling Industries, QBJJC events and Fight Night Challenge superfights. I have also represented at the IBJJF Asian Championships and World Championship.
While competition has played a significant role in my development, my greatest passion is helping others discover what Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu can offer beyond the medals.
From 2017 to 2019 I coached a dedicated women’s program, helping women build confidence, develop practical skills, and transition comfortably into mixed classes. I believe Jiu-Jitsu has the power to change lives, not only through self-defence and competition, but through the confidence, resilience and personal growth that come from consistently challenging yourself.
My coaching focuses on creating a supportive learning environment where students understand not only how a technique works, but why it works. Whether your goal is competition, self-development, fitness, or simply trying something new, I want every student to leave the mats feeling more capable than when they arrived.
